Test Monthly
TMC runs a full diagnostic test at the time of install and/or switchover to ensure all components are communicating to our monitoring facility. However, due to phone line failures, lightning and/or power surges, changes in phone service, VOIP, cable phone lines, etc., we urge you to test your system monthly.
⚠️ Important
There are many outside interruptions that can cause your normally reliable security system to become incapable of doing its job.
How to Test My Alarm System

1Call our 24/7 Monitoring Facility: Dial 1-866-247-4999 and select option/ext 31 to speak to a live operator

2Prepare your credentials: Have your ID number/password ready which identifies you as the authorized user of your monitored premise

3Request test mode: Advise the operator you would like to test your alarm system

4System offline: The operator will take your alarm system off line so that no dispatching will occur during your testing

5Secure all entry points: Close all doors and protected windows

6Arm the system: Arm your system and allow delay time to expire

7Trigger the alarm: Activate your alarm by opening a door/window, pressing a panic button or crossing the path of a motion sensor

8Let it sound: Allow your siren to sound for 30 to 60 seconds

9Disarm: Disarm the system

10Call back: Dial our 24/7 Monitoring Facility at 1-866-247-4999 and select option 5 to speak to a live operator

11Verify identity: Have your ID number/password ready which identifies you as the authorized user of your monitored premise

12Check results: Advise that you are calling to check test results

13Review communication: The operator will describe the alarm signals received by our Monitoring Station

14Return to service: Ask the operator to take your system off test in order to put your system back online

15Testing complete: You are done!
